Russia's Giant-Sized version of Teddy Ruxpin in Sochi

As a child, one of my favorite toys was the Teddy Ruxpin. For most people my age, this may have been the first close up experience with animal-tronics besides the Cheerleading goose, Banjo playing bear, and Keyboard playing Gorilla at Showbiz Pizza. I eventually got over the Disappointment when I realized that Teddy Ruxpin would never be able mouth the actual lyrics of Enter Sandman by Metallica without assistance.

Having said that, it seems that Russia has taken our innocent, childlike concept and supersized it. The giant robotic bear above debuted for the entire world (that could find where the Winter Olympic Opening Ceremonies were televised) to see. With all of the bad publicity that the city of Sochi has received, this was actually a neat thing to see.

Because at this point.......We might have seen this.....

Which now that I think about it.......would have been pretty badass!

OTM Daily Action 2/7/2014

Well....that didn't start as well as I thought it would. A 5-6 start would have at least been somewhat repectable. However, 2-9 is just embarrassing. I can easily point blame everyone including the Obama administration, but it will do me no good. I went bold, could easily picked some +1.5's, but decided to go for glory

So what can I do?

On the bright side, there are NBA games on tonight that seem favorable to me, at least I think.

Here is today's action on course for a return to redemption:

NBA

Portland covers +5.5 @ Indiana

Brooklyn (+100 ML) over Detroit

Toronto covers +5 vs. Los Angeles Clippers

Oklahoma City covers -9 @ Orlando

Denver (+1 -110) over New York Knicks

NHL

Florida (+1.5 -173) covers Carolina

Phoenix(+110 ML) over Chicago

San Jose (-1.5 +170) covers Columbus

OTM Daily Action 2/6/2014

DISCLAIMER: THIS IS FOR ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES ONLY!

This could be really good or really bad for me.

Since I will now be consistently blogging, I at least want to keep some consistent content on here.

How could I do that? By picking some betting lines.

In the maiden voyage of the OTM Daily Action, I decided to roll NHL.

With the NHL, the point spread never changes, you either pick +1.5 or -1.5. However, there is a money line (ML) if you want to pick an outright winner. To me, this is usually your best bet.

Here's my picks for tonight's NHL matchups:

Nashville (+ 143 ML) over Minnesota

Boston (+ 134 ML) over St. Louis

New York Islanders (-168 ML) over Calgary

New York Rangers (-1.5 +230) vs. Edmonton

Colorado (+129 ML) over Philadelphia

Winnipeg (+129 ML) over Washington

Montreal (-121 ML) over Vancouver

Ottawa (-1.5 +144) over Buffalo

Tampa Bay (-154 ML) over Toronto

Detroit (-115 ML) over Florida

Columbus (+153 ML) over Los Angeles
